The City and the Airport want to share a quick update regarding Pendleton’s Essential Air Service (EAS) contract. As many of you know, the Department of Transportation is responsible for awarding and renewing EAS contracts nationwide. This year, DOT’s review and award process is taking longer than usual, and Pendleton is one of several airports experiencing these delays. It’s not unique to us, communities across the country are in the same holding pattern while DOT works through its backlog. In the meantime, Boutique Air continues to operate flights serving Pendleton, and they remain your best point of contact for anything related to schedules, ticket availability, or booking. Pendleton Airport (PDT) is located just 3 miles northeast of downtown Pendleton, at 2016 Airport Rd, Pendleton, OR 97801.

At this time, Boutique Air continues to provide Essential Air Service (EAS) flights between Pendleton and Portland. The U.S. Department of Transportation is currently finalizing the next EAS contract award, and that federal review process is taking longer than usual for airports across the country. During this transition period, Boutique Air remains the active commercial carrier serving Pendleton. According to the Transportation Security Administration, “As of May 7, 2025, state-issued driver’s licenses and IDs that are not REAL ID compliant are no longer accepted as valid forms of identification at airports…” (TSA, n.d.).
